“Sit up straight!” as our mother would say. If we are in a group of people and someone starts talking about posture, we all sit up a little straighter. We rarely think about our posture to the point that we would be willing to make a change.
The facts are in. Posture can affect our mood, heart rate, *lung function, and even pain levels. Being in a flexed posture with rounded shoulders and forward head position has a measurable effect on disability and overall *mortality. It influences the way we see the world and how the world sees us.
Common symptoms with forward head posture:
- Headaches
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Breathing impairment
- Problems with balance and instability
